Today I give you another weekly wittering in which I will be taking on a worldbuilding prompt and attempting to use it to delve into different aspects of my world – Egaar. Faction Intrigue: How to make Factions for your fantasy world?
Have you ever wondered how to create and track factions of people in your world? Be it for your own fantasy worldbuilding project, the peoples of your story or different factions in your homebrew tabletop roleplaying games; factions are a common sight.
So as a follow up to my Godmaker Manuscript and my Makings of Nobility guide, I have decided to share with you a guide I have created to help me to create and track the different factions of my world, to help me in running my D&D games.
It has been put together using a range of ideas and may not be perfect for all people’s needs, but I think it gives a good amount of detail and maybe inspiration for aspects you may not have thought about.

Creating a starting area for a D&D campaign can be a daunting prospect for new Game Masters. Similarly, creating a whole world for your games or stories can be extremely challenging and many creators would advocate starting small with a simple town or region, and building outwards. Therefore, creating a small settlement like this can be a more manageable start. Welcome to Bleakwood Abbey!

Magic is a cornerstone of fantasy. If you have a fantasy setting it is likely you have magic within it. Understanding the magic in your world can be important when it comes to story, theme and worldbuilding, so today we will start to look at how I went about creating the magic system for my world – The World of Egaar.
Origins and Sources of Magic – Where does magic come from?
When beginning to craft a magic system, it is important to figure out where the magic comes from in your world and there are many common sources you can choose from:

About 3 years ago, I was listening to the BFG audiobook during a long car journey home and got inspired by the idea of dreams being collected by the giant and used to give people pleasant sleep. I really loved the idea of dreams being an actual entity that floats about the world and I decided to try and take this further by developing an entire industry around these dreams! Here’s my take, I hope you enjoy!

Welcome to the first of many dives into the Noble houses of my world, Egaar! Today, we are looking at the House of Lignaard, a well-known house from the Tarantulan Empire, with close ties to the Tarantulan royal family. This write up provides a brief summary of different aspects of the house and roughly follows my guide: The Makings of Nobility. I hope it gives some interesting insight into one of the noble houses of my world and inspires you in your worldbuilding.

Since my last post in this religion building series, I have done a lot of work on the Egaan Way, a dominant religion in my fantasy world. As a result of this, I have come to realise that Saints can play a far more important role in your world than previously described. Therefore, I have decided that this post shall be dedicated to them, in order to hopefully do them justice.

Today I thought I’d introduce you to a sentient species of people that exist in Egaar – The Wulvar! These are a bipedal species of anthropomorphic wolf-people that inhabit many regions of the world. In this post I not only detail the history, origin and culture of the species, but I also give guidance for using the species as a playable race in Dungeons and Dragons style roleplaying game.
