Welcome back to Wittering of a Worldbuilder. Today I give you another weekly wittering in which I will be taking on a worldbuilding prompt and attempting to use it to delve into different aspects of my world – Egaar. I will be freewriting a lot of my responses and they will hopefully provide me with new, useful information about Egaar and its people. Hope you enjoy!

Fantasy Short: She is the enemy of knowledge
As part of my continued desire to better my writing ability, I have taken to using writing prompts to inspire myself. I find them to be an excellent source of inspiration and they help to spark my imagination in ways I may never have experienced without them. Thus, I am able to create short scenes of fiction to help bring to life my ideas. What follows is but one of these shorts: She is the enemy of knowledge

It has been a while since I sat and wrote any form of narrative and I feel that I have gotten out of practise writing stories. To combat this, I have decided to use writing prompts to create short scenes of fiction entirely on the spot. Welcome to the Egaan Pantheon. Here I will delve into the details of my various gods. I will attempt to provide background, descriptions and interesting tidbits to hopefully give you a better insight into the World of Egaar.
A few months ago I presented a document I referred to as my Godmaker Manuscript. I have been using this over the last year to revamp the pantheon of my world – Egaar. Below I present one of these gods; Viltrix, the God of Storms, Thunder and the Hunt.

So this post has been a long time coming. I have always believed that illustrations are a massive inspiration to my writing, imagination and creativity. Its easy for you to picture what you are writing about in your head, but it is hard to convey those images into somebody else’s mind. I believe that illustrators harbour a great power in this regard and it is them who have the power to conjure the images from our pages and bring them into focus for others to experience for themselves.
In an attempt to experiment in doing this I decided to send an extract from one of my stories to a close friend and illustrator – Natasha Harris. I asked her to simply read the extract and provide me with an illustration of the scene based only on her perspective on what she read. I provided very little in regards to the context of the piece and only gave slight guidance with regard to minor clarifications.
Below are the results of this endeavour.
