Creating a Religion – Part 2: The Basics of Belief

Welcome to the second instalment in a multi-part series of posts that will help to take you through the many steps to creating a fully functional, realistic religion for your world. Religions of Egaar: The Egaan Way

Welcome back to Wittering of a Worldbuilder! Today we will begin to take a look at the different religions of Egaar. Although the Egaan Way may be the most dominant religion of Egaar, there is a lot of division and diversity within the religion, as well as a wide range of other older and younger religions, cults and sects that we will explore. I will try to give details on how I created each aspect of the religions and why I made certain decisions. Inspired Worldbuilding: The Druidic Deconstruction Period

I often struggle to come up with truly original worldbuilding ideas. I get a lot of inspiration from fantasy imagery and other pieces of writing, but occasionally I will get inspired by something different. At times this can be buildings and places, everyday objects or even random sequences of events that unfold before me. Today I thought I’d share with you a little piece of inspiration that stumbled into my life, and how it developed into a really enjoyable snippet of worldbuilding – The Druidic Deconstruction Period.

Gods of Egaar: Viltrix

Welcome to the Egaan Pantheon. Here I will delve into the details of my various gods. I will attempt to provide background, descriptions and interesting tidbits to hopefully give you a better insight into the World of Egaar.

A few months ago I presented a document I referred to as my Godmaker Manuscript. I have been using this over the last year to revamp the pantheon of my world – Egaar. Below I present one of these gods; Viltrix, the God of Storms, Thunder and the Hunt.
